The LLE Story
The Story Behind Leading In Life Enterprise
“It wasn’t just about leadership—it was about wholeness.”
Leading In Life Enterprise didn’t start as a business idea. It began as a personal journey—one marked by adversity, emotional struggle, and the deep desire to grow beyond survival.

At the heart of it is Kinah L. Burks, a dynamic leadership strategist, emotional intelligence expert, and justice-involved advocate whose life and leadership journey became the blueprint for what LLE would one day become.

Before she ever trained others in workforce development or led leadership cohorts, Kinah was living what she now teaches. She had experienced what it meant to lead while emotionally depleted, to show up while carrying unhealed trauma, and to succeed professionally while feeling disconnected personally.

Working in fast-paced leadership roles—from managing hundreds of employees in quick-service restaurants to driving operations in workforce agencies—she began to notice something others overlooked:

People were performing, but not healing. Leading, but not whole.
Her passion for people development collided with a deeper conviction: emotional intelligence, healing, and inner work aren’t side notes to leadership—they’re the foundation of it.
What started as a personal breakthrough soon became a mission.
Kinah founded Leading In Life Enterprise to bridge the gap between trauma and leadership, offering transformational tools to help others not just lead—but lead with wholeness, wisdom, and impact.

She integrated everything she had learned—experiential learning, emotional intelligence, right- and left-brain teaching models, trauma-informed care, social-emotional learning, and biblical principles—and built a company committed to transformation.

LLE now empowers justice-involved individuals, ministry and workplace leaders, and purpose-driven professionals through coaching, workshops, consulting, and the Heal, Grow & Thrive framework—a process that takes individuals from pain to purpose, and from survival to sustainable leadership.

Why Leading In Life Exists
Because Kinah knows that when people heal, they lead differently.
Because emotional intelligence is more than a skill—it’s a strategy for sustainable growth.
Because nothing is wasted, and every experience can become a stepping stone to leadership.
Leading In Life Enterprise was born to make that truth a reality—for every person ready to lead in life, not just in title, but in character, resilience, and wholeness.
